Prof. Cho Nam-Joon (NTU) and Prof. Zhou Weibiao (NUS) invited Prof. Assaf Friedler, Prof. Shlomo Yitzchaik, Prof. Zvi Hayouka and Prof. Mattan Hurevich from HUJ as speakers for the NTU conference on 6th March 2023 and the NUS FST seminar talk on 8th March 2023.
The above events were part of the SHARE's new programme, CellAg:Bioengineering Tools for Next-Generation Cellular Agriculture's kickoff week. The Lead PIs, Prof. Cho and Prof. Assaf engaged the CellAg team in programme preparation and planning during the kickoff.
The programme addresses the outstanding need to develop advanced bioengineering tools to support next-generation cellular agriculture by overcoming the challenges of microbial threats such as bacteria. The research activities in this programme are divided into two main tracks that are focused on using novel molecular recognition elements for developing biosensing strategies to detect microbial contaminants and to develop effective mitigation strategies to replace antibiotics.
