Prof. Mattan Hurevich's group develops new solid-phase synthesis approaches to facilitate the preparation of oligosaccharides, glycopeptides and other types of modified peptides. The group uses these entities to study unique biological interactions. The group is involved in domestic and international projects that aim to utilize carbohydrates for the preparation of biosensors for a wide variety of applications. As part of the CellAg project, the group will utilize synthetic carbohydrates to detect pathogens in cultured meat products.
Mattan is fond of football, whiskey, music and synthesizing carbohydrates.
